This piece of Julie Elkins was made in my Intermediate Ceramics class, it was her first large scale coil piece. She was to be working with landscape and was influenced by Jack Earl.

Here are some new pieces of Julie's.

Fiona Ross was another MFA student from VCU. While I was teaching there I was on her thesis committee and worked closely with her for two years. She primarily was firing dry raw materials into molds made from bisque ware and bricks. Presently her main work includes both drawings and sculpture. Here is her website address.

These are exhibition shots of Austin's Senior Show at UNCP.

He used the slump molding process for many of his pieces. The arm piece is a good example of that technique.
This is another example of Austin's work he produced at UNCP.
Austin worked with the figure with me at University of North carolina Pembroke and is now a graduate student in sculpture at ECU.
This is a screen shot of Susan's new work featured on The Washington Post Holiday Guide.
Susan has taken a more commercial approach and is doing well. Her work was just featured on the Washington Posts page.

Scott is a professor in ceramics outside of Nashville TN.
This is a newer piece of Sandra's. Also a new Name (Sandra farmer) and a new Baby!

Sandra is another student who has advance far beyond this work and is presently in Seattle working figuratively and actively pursuing a graduate school.
I wanted to include a student of mine at North Central Michigan College who was an intro student and who later went on to get her BFA and is now looking for a graduate school. Mentorship is a continual process for me and I am working with her now to get into a good grad school. These pieces are the first pieces she made in clay.
These are a few more examples of Lisa's work.
Both potters here were students of mine while I taught at North Central Michigan College. They both continue to make pots.
This is the work of Julie Elkins. Julie was an intro through advanced student of mine at VCU. She resides in richmond Virginia and is a full-time artist.
This is the work of Jill Bell who was a graduate student at VCU while I taught there. She presently resides in NYC and has continued with her figurative work. She has been in many national shows and sells her work at galleries around the east cost.

This is more work of Jeff Talor that he created at VCU.
Jeff Taylor was an advanced student of mine at VCU. This work was reflective of the work he did in a mold making class I was teaching. Presently Jeff resides in North Carolina and is an arts administrator.

Adam Welch was a graduate student  at VCU while I was teaching there and has continued on to be an incredible writer on contemporary issues in art and also is the Director of Greenwich House Pottery in NYC.
